Operation Sentinelle: military on a war footing

Following last January's terrorist attacks, the Prime Minister has put the Vigipirate plan at its highest level in the Ile-de-France region. More than 10 000 servicemen have been mobilized for the operation Sentinelle.

Back on the operation Chammal

The operation Chammal was launched in September 2014 at the request of the Iraqi government and as part of the international coalition. The operation Chammal led France to provide support to Iraqi security forces against the terrorist group Daech notably through significant air support.

Operation Sangaris: key facts about the past few months

Since December 2013, French forces have been deployed in Central African Republic in Operation Sangaris, in order to restore a minimal security level in the country and to support the rise of the United Nations mission, MINUSCA. "Au Contact", the new strategic offer of the Army

The Army has decided to adapt its organization by taking into consideration its environment's evolution and the threats it has to face. It is now addressing the challenge by revealing its new model: Au Contact.

New technical prowess

Recently, France and its allies have accomplished several technological prowess: first guided launch of the long-range air-to-air missile from the Rafale against an aerial target and for the first time in Europe launch of a naval cruise missile by FREMM Aquitaine.

NATO Cyber Defence Committee at DGA Knowledge Development

On the initiative of the permanent representation of France to NATO, of the Armed Forces Joint Staff and of the Directorate General of Armaments, France has welcomed a meeting of the NATO Cyber Defence Committee at DGA Knowledge Development.

Last minute:

• The first AIFV in its 32 tons version has been received by DGA. 95 AIFV will be delivered in the course of the summer of 2017.
• The second modernized Boeing E-3F has just been delivered to the Air Force after a renovation project that started in August 2014. The modernization of the 4 planes started in June 2013 and will stop with the two remaining planes by the third semester of 2016.
• The third Reaper drone (acquired to the USA by France) has been deployed to Nigeria for the operation Barkhane. It has completed the current fleet.
• The 7th A400M has been delivered to the Air Force during the Bourget show.
